We are a small hobby breeder located in San Diego, California specializing in purebred yellow Labrador Retrievers. We specifically breed the classic “English” type Labrador Retrievers generally known for their gorgeous blocky heads, heavy-boned build, stout otter tails, endearing facial expressions and sweet, teddy bear temperaments. As preservation breeders of Labs, we prioritize health, temperament and proper physical structure.  Our breeding parentage stock are OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) tested and have scored with higher-grade classifications (good to excellent and/or normal). They have also been genetically tested and are AKC (American Kennel Club) registered. Additionally, we emphasize raising our puppies and dogs with a holistic, natural approach.

Our Philosophy

Our highest priorities at Pemberley Labradors are to produce the healthiest dogs possible while striving towards the AKC Labrador Retriever breed standard for conformation. (Conformation refers to the evaluation of a purebred dog against the written standard, which describes the ideal physical structure, movement, coat, color and temperament for each breed.) We employ a comprehensive holistic approach throughout our breeding program and with the raising of our puppies. In addition to testing the health and genetics of our breeding parent stock, we utilize nutrient-dense whole foods, highest-quality nutritional supplementation, homeopathic remedies, filtered water and avoid synthetic, toxic chemicals as much as realistically possible. We firmly believe a natural approach increases the likelihood for a lifetime of vibrant good health, which will also hopefully be reflected in less vet bills. Optimal nutrition (in any species) produces excellent physical structure, sound mental function (temperament) and robust longevity in addition to conferring superior genetics to subsequent offspring.
